Weekend!

Saturday/Sunday 18/19-02: What a great weekend! Saturday we just did much of nothing. We swum, played games and hide and seek. My mom and my sister came over from the Netherlands to accompany us. Sunday was a even greater day; we stood up at 6:30 to go to a game drive, starting at 9:00. We drove for 1 hour and arrived at Dinokeng. We had to wait for a short while, but it did not matter because everybody was obsessed with the zebra's just walking next to you. When it was 9:00, Jacques - our driver - explained us the general rules and we went off to hunt. In the first half an hour we saw impala's, bushchickens, kudu's, wildebeasts and monkeys. Then our tracker spotted a lion 50 meters into the bush. We were really exited, but it even became better when mom spotted a lion 5 meters next to the car! We stopped for a minute and made countless pictures. She went to a rock where she lied down. It was a good shot to take a picture. Nevertheless, there was more than lions. We saw a white rhino, giraffes and one elephant. We had a drink and a snack, and after that we returned to the lodge. Then mom and Emmely had the idea to go to mystic monkey, a place where you could pet lion and tiger cups. What an experience. The tiger cups were notier and more playful, including the playful bites. Mystic monkeys was really cool. It was already 14:00 and Rienk, Haitze, Dieuwertje and I wanted to go home to swim. It was like 31 degrees. But Emmely and mom had different plans and wanted to go on a self-drive. We saw more or less nothing, it was sad. Nevertheless, we ate a small bit and we still swum in the evening (18:00). Everybody went to sleep at 20:00, so we did too. Tomorrow will be my first day at fund management.
